"Lanterns Of Hope have released a new single titled, There Was This Girl. “The song is about a special person who never found what they were looking for. I really enjoyed the atmosphere the track created and the sweet vocals to match. I can’t wait to see what else this artist releases." - Reignland

"There Was This Girl". "Obviously relatable but also really pristinely put together and not lacking any emotional value. It's all there and it's just one of many songs on the album that makes you want to hear more and more." - Phoenix Music

"The reminiscences which Lanterns of Hope shares with the likes of Leonard Cohen and Elliot Smith amplifies the accessibility of There Was This Girl, yet, plenty of distinction can be found in the raw human emotion which has been poured into the single. Narratively compelling tracks such as There Was This Girl will always be timeless." - A&R Factory

"The highlight was “They Drink the Wine” for a number of reasons. I’m not sure why but the mix seemed clear and the proper treatment of the vocals felt obvious to my ears. There is also some notable instrumental parts with technically impressive fills."

PRESS

Cave Songs is the latest release from critically recognized indie artist Lanterns of Hope. The 6 song EP hit stores only 4 months after Upward Over was released to glowing reviews. Cave Songs touches on personal stories in the vein of indie-folk and indie-rock with genuine songwriting and passionate acoustic guitar surrounded by transfixing vocals.

"Cave Songs is a crisp and fluid release. The songs coalesce in your mind better when you listen from beginning to end which is what I would recommend. This is a very welcome addition to Lanterns of Hope discography." - Divide & Conquer Indie Music Reviews

"Compass" by Lanterns of Hope is about our spiritual journey, in nautical analogy. Earth is temporary, and we are working toward a heavenly goal, using a compass that is not man-made. "St. Peter, he holds the key, for the cast aside and weary." He will be at the gate, welcoming those who have made the arduous journey. Joshua Hope's voice is a bit like Neil Young's, and he sings with conviction." - Laura Hall KWCW 90.5 FM

"Duet harmonies and spaced out guitars float about as the song Storms grows in passion and emotion. “Storms” feels like something you want to listen to all the way through. With many strengths the EP has only one weakness. You want more." - Facets of Art

PRESS

With the release of the Upward Over album, Lanterns Of Hope takes a new approach to some classic genres and gives the record a life all it's own. Lush with beautiful progressions, an indie yet soulful vocal approach, and persistent pop undertones, the record boasts the aesthetic of neo folk anthems.

"Lanterns Of Hope recently dropped a huge album and if you love neo-folk and indie rock with some emotion, this one is for you. The album is titled "Upward Over" is made up of a series of powerful and moving folk songs that get you thinking. Songs are descriptive and visually enticing to the imagination." - Phoenix Music

"Upward Over has a flow to it and one of the reasons I prefer to listen to an album from beginning to end. As an album unfolds I prefer an arc similar to a story where it takes you to different shades of emotion and varying degrees of energy. If you are looking for experience like that then you just found it." - Divide & Conquer Indie Music Reviews
